Vinyl wrap over textured powder coat on outdoor utility box?

Got a commercial job coming up where a city utility company wants their 2021 powder-coated transformer enclosure vinyl-wrapped. It has a textured finish and is situationed outside all year, so expect that it's always been facing heat, snow buildup, and wind off the lake.

Customer requested IJ180C but I'm skeptical with that texture. Would a high-tack wrap do, or should I suggest printed aluminum panels instead? Dimensions are close to 48x90x150.

With that textured surface and extreme outdoor exposure, IJ180C likely won't hold good enough. A high tack wrap might help, tho printed aluminum panels are the safer and more durable option

Hehe, good luck with that but it's not gonna hold in the long run, especially in that weather, look you're better off pushing printed aluminum panels or at least a high tack like Arlon SLX+ if they insist on vinyl but honestly, panels are the smarter play here, cleaner install, less risk of call backs

yeah, printed aluminum panels are the way to go. Trying to get a vinyl wrap to stick long-term to a textured powder coat, especially in those harsh weather conditions, is a recipe for failure.
The adhesive simply doesn't have enough surface area to bond properly, and you'll likely have issues with peeling corners and edges.
Panels provide a perfect, flat surface for the print and a professional result that will last for years without a call back
